Dr. Schutz Marknomor is available in Satin Finish ONLY - 2.5 Liter

Dr. Schutz Marknomor finish forms an extremely hardwearing wearlayer for outstanding durability and chemical stain resistance from hair dyes, Alcohol based sanitizers, and plasticizer migration from rubber tires. The Marknomor finish is a special two-part Polyurethane water-based finish for the long-term protection of Sheet Vinyl, LVT, VCT, Rubber and other Resilient Floorings. It is ideally suited for hair salons, car show rooms, hospitals, Doctors offices, Dentist offices and Laboratory facilities.

Preparation for Floors with a factory or subsequently applied polyurethane(PU)coating:
  • Treat the surface of the flooring with the Dr. Schutz Renovation Pad to remove the shine and scuff the surface before applying the Dr. Schutz Marknomor.
  • After the floor has been scuffed, clean the floor using the Dr. Schutz Cleaner. Following the cleaning instructions below.
  • The floor surface must be clean and dry, free from dust, grease, oil, wax and other floor care product residues.
  • Allow the floor to dry completely before applying the finish.

  • Preparation for non PU coated Floors:
  • Remove coarse dirt using a broom or vacuum cleaner.
  • Prior to application, the Flooring must be thoroughly cleaned with Dr. Schutz Cleaner for Newly installed floors and Dr. Schutz Stripper for floors that have been previously coated with acrylic waxes, sealers, and other finishes.
  • Dilute the Dr. Schutz Stripper in a ratio of 1:10 with clean water, 1:5 if necessary or use undiluted for aggressive stripping of stubborn/heavy build-up. Distribute the cleaning solution over the floor and allow it to dwell for 10 minutes, aggressively scrub the floor surface using a soft bristle scrub brush or rotary brush attachment.
  • Remove the dirty solution and excess liquid using a wide-headed absorbent wiper mop or wet/dry vacuum. Wipe over the floor with a clean mop and clean water to neutralize the floor and remove any excess cleaner/stripper and/or soapy residue.
  • Repeat the stripping process as many times as necessary (Approx. 3 times) on floors that have been previously finished to make sure all the old finish has been removed. You can use the stripper undiluted if needed to remove stubborn residues.
  • The heavy texture of the flooring may require several rinse cycles to completely remove cleaner/stripper and/or soapy residue.
  • The floor surface must be clean and dry, free from dust, grease, oil, wax and other floor care product residues before Marknomor application.
  • Allow the floor to dry completely before applying the finish.

  • Marknomor Application – 1st Coat:
  • Aggressively shake the canisters containing the Marknomor Finish and the Cross Linker prior to mixing.
  • Add the Cross linker into the Marknomor Finish container and mix both components by shaking thoroughly or pour both components into a clean/dry 5 gallon bucket and mix thoroughly with drill attached mixing basket. Only mix enough to do one coat.
  • After you have mixed the Marknomor, let the mixture rest for approximately 10 minutes to allow the two components to react.
  • If partial quantities are mixed, always mix Marknomor Finish and Cross Linker using a ratio of 4:1 (4 parts Marknomor to 1 part Cross Linker). Room and working temperature: 60 – 75 degree F.
  • After mixing the Marknomor and Cross Linker it is easiest to pour the mixture into a clean paint roller tray and roll out the Marknomor mixture evenly over the floor using the Dr. Schutz MicroFiber Roller.
  • Begin work on the side with the primary incoming source of light (as a rule this is the side of the room where there is a window) and work away from the incoming light source. This technique will enable the applicator to identify puddles, skips, voids, pools, etc and make it easy to correct them during application. Apply the finish and distribute evenly and uniformly with the Dr. Schutz MicroFiber Roller cover, working in sections of a maximum of 3’ in width at right angles to the incoming source of light (i.e., parallel to the window wall) and then roll it out evenly towards the light. Avoid the formation of pools or puddles.
  • Allow a minimum of 2 hours drying time but not more than 24 hours before applying the next coat.

  • Marknomor Application – 2nd Coat:
  • After allowing 2 hours of drying time, apply a second coat of Marknomor Finish following the instructions above. The floor can be walked on if caution is used 12 hours after the application of the final Marknomor coating. The protective film reaches its final level of hardness and stain resistance after approximately 7 days at room temperature.

  • Notes:
  • Once mixed, the mixture of Marknomor Finish and Cross Linker is suitable for use for approximately 1 hour at the prescribed working temperature of 60-75°F. For this reason, only mix the quantity of finish that can be applied within this period of time.
  • Where the Finish and Cross linker are subjected to higher temperatures, the working time is reduced considerably. In case of cold components, the mixing procedure cannot be performed sufficiently.
  • Do not tightly seal the canister containing mixed finish since the Marknomor Finish /cross linker mixture can, over time, react in the canister resulting in the build-up of reactive gases.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation but avoid exposure to drafts and strong sunlight during application and drying processes; protect the surface from dust.
  • Turn off Radiant Floor Heating prior to application of Marknomor, then gradually return to normal temperature setting.
  • For surfaces with non-removable factory-applied polyurethane treatment which are fully clean and without residue, scuff the surface with an abrasive pad (Dr Schutz Renovation Pad) to remove gloss then clean with the Dr. Schutz cleaner before application of Dr Schutz Marknomor.

  • Coverage: 538 Sq. Ft. (one coat) and 269 Sq. Ft. (two coats) per 2.5 Liters

Avoid contact of cross linker and mixed sealer with skin. Wear suitable gloves. Always confirm acceptable Use by Date on cross linker for best results (cross linker may be used 3 months beyond date on crosslinker). Consult the Safety Data Sheet for more information.

Store Marknomor Finish in a dry place in a sealed container at temperatures between 60°F and 80°F. Keep locked up and out of the reach of children. The cross linker must not be allowed to come into contact with moisture. Once the seal is broken, re-seal the canister tightly immediately after and use remaining quantities of product as soon as possible.
